We moved in the beginning of the year to a larger apartment, when I was 20 weeks pregnant.
I wanted a nursery that would be cozy enough for a baby, but also cool enough for a little boy … tough challenge.
I love our new building, in the heart of the Inner Sunset, one block from the Park – but, I hate our bedroom carpet. It’s as ugly as it can be : brown, rough … ugly.
So, that was my point of start – how to solve for that horrible floor?
First thought about changing the carpet – but that would be hard to clean, and I do suffer from cleaning OCD.
Then, the obvious came up : foam tiles! They’re made for kids room, right? But no way I’d have those super colorful alphabet foam tiles – just not our style…
Found 2 different ideas that I did like :
super cute, and within our color code
New to the scene, these beautiful play mats are so gorgeous that you could use them in both Baby’s nursery and your living room !
But, they were still not what I had on my mind …
That’s when I heard about the amazing Lorena Canals Washable (and super soft) Rugs. I swear I felt that tingling inside – it’s not only what I pictured, but I can actually wash it whenever I want to! BOOM, OCD satisfied!
Layered on top of basic light grey foam tiles from Amazon, and my perfect floor was ready to go!
Even if you’re not a fan of my white, black & grey color scheme, you can take advantage of the idea and play with different foam tiles as a background and one of these wonderful rugs (I do love the ginormous green leaf as well!)
Have fun!
